ELEVATED HEIGHTS

“You shall not sew your vineyard with two kinds of seed” (Deut.22.9)

The presumption is that you have a vineyard.
The above Mitzvah follows immediately upon the Torah requirement to build a parapet around the roof of a new home.
So Rashi comments, should you build a parapet on the roof of your new home, you will merit a vineyard.

In building a parapet we ensure that no-one falls from the roof. He who in understanding the shortcomings of others takes steps to pre-empt their fall, merits to bring pleasure to them with the choice wine of his vineyard that brings pleasure to divinity and man. (Zikaron BaSefer)

Both the roof of a dwelling and the vineyard built on hilly slopes are elevated.
Any fall from these altitudes is physical. All upliftment from these heights is spiritual.
