THE STAR OF DAVID

“You shall be holy for I Hashem your G-d am holy” (Lev.19.2)

Every state has a flag with its singular insignia and colours. The flag of the kingdom of the Holy One Blessed Be He is holiness, “…for I Hashem your G-d am holy”. Therefore, ”…you shall be holy”; it is befitting that we, his subjects, aspire to his standards. (Leket Oni)

What are the insignia of the divine flag?
Two interlocking inverted triangles signifying the union of:
· the King of Kings and the Mystic Community of Israel;
· the Holy One Blessed Be He and his Shechinah;
· heaven and earth;
· the spiritual and the physical.

This union is the holy union to which we may aspire by observing the divine standards prescribed in his Torah.

When our spirits are flagging, we may be uplifted through Ruah HaKodesh – the holy spirit, through the practice of the moral and ethical principles of the Torah in our day-to-day living.
